Before the Video Interview

1. Install the Webcam Software. Insert the CD that came with your webcam, and follow the instructions. If you have any questions, call ExecuCam at 888-830-2782. If your computer has Windows 2000, please click here.
   
2. Schedule a Test Run. After your webcam is installed, please contact ExecuCam to schedule a five minute live test run with an ExecuCam representative. You may reach ExecuCam at 888-830-2782.
3. Register for your Video Interview. It is important that you test your web browser for compatibility prior to the video interview. ExecuCam suggests that you do this as soon as possible to ensure ample time for troubleshooting. Click on the Registration link in the email invitation sent to you by the firm and follow the instructions. Please be sure to write down your registration code and note that it is case sensitive. If you have any problems, call ExecuCam at 888-830-2782.
4. Be Ready for Hands-Free Communication. During your video interview, you will most likely be talking to the recruiter through a phone, not the internet. It is important that you have hands-free communication capabilities. This could be accomplished through either a speaker phone or an earpiece for your phone.
5. Position the Webcam. Position with webcam on the top center of your monitor.  It is important that you are able to look directly into the webcam so that during the interview you can have eye-to-eye communication.
6. Have Good Lighting. Make sure that you have good lighting. You should position a light in front of you. If there is a window behind you, make sure you close your shades.

On the Day of the Video Interview

1. Don’t Engage the Webcam Software. You should not open the Logitech webcam software for your video interview. Once you login to your video interview, the webcam will automatically turn on. If your webcam software is running when you login to your video interview, however, your webcam will not work while in the video interview. You will have to log out of the video interview and then log back in without the software engaged.
2. Locate Your Interview Slot. Your video interview slot will be listed on the firm’s Online Video Site. A link to the employers Online Interview Site will be included in the invitation that they send to you. You should have this email invitation handy on the day of the video interview. Do not try to login yet. The recruiter will be calling you at the specified time and will walk you through the login process.
3. Get Comfortable. Make sure your chair is comfortable and situated properly so that you can easily make eye contact through the webcam.
4. Wait for the Call. Although employers may facilitate video interviewing in different ways, most will call you at the designated time. It is important that your phone has a speaker phone capability or that you have a ear piece to plug in, so that you can have hands free communication.
5. Login to the Video Interview. The recruiter will assist you in logging into your video interview.
6. Set Up the Video Feed. After you login to your video interview, the recruiter will set up his or her video feed and then talk you through the process of setting up your video feed. This will take about a minute. Once your video feed is set up, your video interview will commence.
